Day 1
Arrive at Mumbai by flight. Sightseeing
at Mumbai. Transfer to domestic airport for Departure by
flight for Nagpur. Arrival at Nagpur and transfer to Pench
Tiger Reserve by surface transport. 5 Night stay at Pench.
Pench in Nestled among the lower
Satpura Hill ranges. Pench is named after the river which
flows through the center of the Park, dissecting it in two
halves. Pench is picturesque area with undulating rolling
terrain with a mix of large reservoir and forested
habitat. Has the highest density of spotted deer in the
country. Pench is one of the hot spots of the medicinal
plants.

Day 2
Morning safari and visit to a forest
village to have a close brush with the lifestyle of the
Gonds (local tribals). Gonds are the original inhabitants
of this area. Hunter-gatherers in early times now settled
in the Satpura region. Presently their society has become
more of agriculturist, but still major part of their
livelihood depends on the forest. Here still some of the
inhabitants use the primitive style of lightening fire. A
stone flint it struck with rapid jerks with a metal to
produce sparks and silk cotton (produced from the silk
cotton tree) placed between the stone flint and the metal
gets ignited. We will be visiting the house and meet some
families to have a feel of their lifestyle. (Elephant ride
subject to the visibility of the tiger). Evening safari.
Day 3
Morning safari and Spending some time
with forest staff to learn about the tiger census
technique. Locate pugmarks in the field and do pugmark
tracing and plaster cast of the pugmark to understand the
concept of pugmark. (Elephant ride subject to the
visibility of the tiger). Evening safari. Participate in
the bathing of the camp elephants with mahouts.
Day 4
Morning safari and walk on the nature
trail along with a forest staff to get the feel of the
surrounding wilderness. (Elephant ride subject to the
visibility of the tiger).
Evening safari and visit to Awarghani a village in the
close proximity to the park to see the fruit bat colony
and on way back to the resort see the flying squirrel
activity, nightjars and some other nocturnal animals of
the forest.
Day 5
Morning safari. We will visit the
western side of the park Evening safari. Barbeque dinner.
Day 6
Morning Departure for Nagpur from Pench
by surface transport to catch a flight for Mumbai. Arrival
at Mumbai. Check in hotel for wash and change. Evening
transfer to airport for Departure to London by flight.

Arrival in UK
